As worn by the Mother of Dragons
Among the more fantastical things on HBO series Game of Thrones is the intricate sterling silver jewelry worn by Daenerys Targaryen, the white-tressed Mother of Dragons played by actress Emilia Clarke.
The mystical-feeling pieces, which often have an armor-esque quality, are the fruits of a long-standing partnership between Game of Thrones costume designer Michele Clapton and London-based jewelry brand Yunus & Eliza. And now Game of Thrones–obsessed jewelry lovers will be able to nab a few reproductions of Clarke’s on-screen looks, along with a slew of brand-new GoT-inspired styles.

On June 30, Clapton and Yunus & Eliza designers Eliza Higginbottom and Yunus Ascott are launching a Game of Thrones fine jewelry collection—under the newly created Mey brand (the name is an acronym for Michelle, Eliza, and Yunus). Do an Etsy search “Game of Thrones” jewelry and you’ll find a sea of fan-made pieces. But Mey is an official issue, manufactured under HBO Global Licensing.

The 22-piece sterling silver collection features two items that appeared in season five and two additional items that will be seen on the Mother of Dragons this season. Looks include “neck sculptures” (open choker-type necklaces that splay out on the neck and collar this way and that), statement-making bracelets, and stacking rings. Prices start at $100, and head up to nearly $3,000 for the intricate neck pieces.
Dragons—and their heads, scales, and claws—are a major design motif naturally. And from the seven or eight pieces we’ve seen so far, the collection mimics the punk rock princess–meets–Jedi witch stylings of Ms. Targaryen herself.

Clapton tapped Yunus & Eliza to create jewelry for the Khaleesi (for GoT innocents, that’s another name Clarke’s character goes by). “Both of my assistants suggested working with Yunus & Eliza,” Clapton said in a statement. “On our first meeting, we realized that it was a perfect fit…our sensibilities were very similar. We’re very excited to be able to take this partnership from the screen and bring it to life for fans who want to channel their inner Khaleesi.”
