Should you find yourself in Geneva this week attending the Watches and Wonders fair, here’s an idea: Take a break from the horological madness to appreciate what some of the finest jewelers in the world have cooking, on view at the InterContinental Hotel Geneva, home to the latest edition of Haute Jewels Geneva.
Located just a six-minute drive from Palexpo, where Watches and Wonders takes place, Haute Jewels runs through April 6. The event unites 47 brands under a single roof. With many exhibitors representing the best in European design, the selection at the show is truly jaw-dropping, and makes it a one-stop shop for all your extra fine fashion needs.
Italy’s Dada Arrigoni is presenting a raft of new styles, including pieces from its iconic Elika collection, inspired by the graceful silhouette of maple seeds (which look like stylized snakes), and new Happy Frog styles starring the brand’s irrepressible amphibian.

Valenza, Italy–based Picchiotti is bringing the heat with a “significant number of high jewelry ensembles and singular pieces,” Maria Carola Picchiotti, the brand’s marketing director, tells JCK.

“True to our heritage, Picchiotti has focused on diamonds and superlative precious gemstones, as well as an extensive use of baguette and emerald-cut workmanship, a defining feature of the Picchiotti aesthetic,” she says. “Architectural inspired jewels, as well as floral inspired ones, will debut at our Haute Jewels Geneva showcases, along with new designs in the ever-popular Xpandable collection.

“We are also featuring new Reversible designs (patent pending), based on the positive reception when we introduced the concept last year. These new reversible styles allow consumers to wear two looks with one piece, by gently flipping them over as the need or mood arises. Examples include all gold on one side and diamond on the other, or different colored gemstones on each side to wear with different fabrics from the wardrobe.”

Yoko London, a founding Haute Jewels Geneva exhibitor, is debuting its modern pearl jewelry range, the O by Yoko collection; new pistachio and mocha pearl designs; and an expansion of its Zyyp collection, which seeks to redefine contemporary pearl jewelry.

And if you really can’t break away from watches, swing by the Damiani booth, where the Italian brand’s Mimosa collection of 32 mm diamond-set timepieces offers the best of both jewelry and watches. Talk about good timing!
