Just in time for marijuana culture’s high holiday, designer Lauren Harwell Godfrey, the founder of her eponymous Marin County, Calif.–based fine jewelry brand, has created the High Time 4:20 bracelet, a limited-edition jewel that looks like a digital watch forever stuck on every stoner’s magic hour.
“I designed the 4:20 watch bracelet as a celebration of ritual, symbolism, and self-expression,” Harwell Godfrey says. “The time 4:20 has long been associated with cannabis culture, and it’s rumored to have originated in San Rafael, California—a neighboring town to where I live in Marin. I wanted to reframe that concept through the lens of luxury and intentionality, creating something that’s both playful and meaningful.

“As with all of my work, there’s a deep reverence for history, identity, and the stories that objects can carry. The 4:20 watch is about destigmatizing, elevating, and honoring something that’s been culturally influential and personally liberating—for many, myself included. And of course, it’s also just really fun.”

Available in two 28 mm versions—18k yellow gold and platinum—in five pieces total, the price-on-request bracelet features a dial paved with tsavorite garnets and digits formed with diamond pavé as well as a unisex bracelet that bears Harwell Godfrey’s signature geometric designs.
The piece is the second of a capsule of three-limited edition bracelets that began last year with the solid 18k gold Supernova 11:11 bracelet, whose dial was set with multicolored gemstone pavé to eternally read 11:11.

A decade ago, the High Time bracelet might have been seen as a risky piece of design. Today, however, with pot now legal in one form or another across almost all of America, jewelers have embraced the vibe. From gold charms designed in the shape of cannabis leaves to gem- and diamond-encrusted joint holders/pendants, marijuana-themed jewelry has become a category unto itself. Dope!
