Hamra Jewelers’ New Flagship Emphasizes Client Celebrations

The new 13,000-square-foot Hamra Jewelers store in Scottsdale, Ariz., showcases fine jewelry and the latest wristwatches within a home-like setting that includes an upscale kitchen and dining area perfect for catered meals and client events.

Opening of Hamra’s flagship, located at 15620 N. Scottsdale Road, is a culmination of decades of work for the family-owned business, growing its clientele and developing a reputation for creating memorable moments, says Jeffrey Malkoon, who works in business development and operations for Hamra.

“It’s an exciting moment for us that is 40 years in the making,” Malkoon says. “When we were designing the store, we thought about where our clients live. What does it look like when they go home? We asked our architect and designers to add those kinds of elements to the building.”

Hamra Jewelers’ new Scottsdale flagship has several seating areas for clients, including this one outside the Patek Philippe space.

Christina Hamra, who does social media and marketing for Hamra, agrees.

“We wanted to custom-build the store to create a space where people can feel honored and celebrated,” Hamra says. “These [jewelry pieces and watches] are heirlooms they’re going to pass on, so we wanted a space that was light, luxurious, and beautiful but also had spaces where people could come together and select the perfect piece of jewelry.”

Hamra Jewelers’ two-floor showroom contains a Rolex boutique on one side and a Patek Philippe room on the other side. The main area features a Tudor watch space alongside Hamra’s fine jewelry. There also are smaller spaces in the store for custom jewelry design meetings and for watch collectors to go deep into the timepieces they’re buying, says Hamra.

“The showroom itself is beautiful, with gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows. It’s bright and welcoming with an energy to it that feels uplifting,” she says.

The dedicated Rolex space inside Hamra’s store includes a meeting room for clients.

“Each watch brand has its own private meeting room, which was crucial to the design of this building. We believe customer service is everything, so we wanted areas where people could celebrate life’s big moments with friends and family,” Hamra adds.

Malkoon says the second floor is another design element that makes the showroom unique: In keeping with the residential design theme, it includes a state-of-the-art kitchen, along with a large dining room for employee gatherings and customer events.

“We want to be able to take our client relationships to the next level,” Malkoon says. “We want every space to feel comfortable, like a place where you can stay instead of just coming in and leaving.”

A full-size, state-of-the-art kitchen and dining room on the second floor allow Hamra Jewelers to host private client events.

At the first client event held in the space, a private chef prepared a dinner for a dozen people. The mood was celebratory, and everyone had room at the large round dining table and enjoyed the meal, Malkoon says.

“A two-hour dinner turned into an all-night thing,” he says. “We could see doing multiple events like this a month. That’s something we couldn’t do before when we only had 3,000 square feet.”

Hamra Jewelers was started in 1986 by brothers Paul and Jeff Hamra. Jeff, who is Christina Hamra’s father, serves as the brand’s main jewelry designer.

“We’ve been fortunate to be based in Scottsdale and to have grown as the city has grown,” Malkoon says. “We already had our jewelry at a great level—we like to think it’s top-tier. But now the building matches.”
