Guinness World Records has certified the 637 ct. Mouawad L’Incomparable Diamond Necklace as the most valuable necklace in the world, according to Mouawad.
Its value has been estimated at $55 million.
The necklace features the Incomparable yellow diamond—a 407.48 ct. modified shield step-cut that is considered the world’s largest internally flawless diamond—suspended beneath 229.52 cts. of white diamonds.
“This is the fourth time that Mouawad has received a certificate from the authority of Guinness World Records and it’s another of those remarkable moments in history for our family,” said Pascal Mouawad, guardian of the Mouawad retail division, in a statement.
The Incomparable was found in a rubble pile as an 890 ct. rough by a little girl in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
This is the fourth Guinness record the Mouawad family has won. It also won records for its $3.8 million diamond purse; its $11 million bra; and for the Mouawad Splendor, an 11 ct. pear-shape that was, in 1990, the most expensive diamond sold at auction.
