The new capsule collection by Greenwich St. Jewelers and content creator Xarissa B. of Jewel Boxing comes from a gem of a partnership, reflecting the respect the collaborators have for each other’s expertise in precious stones and jewelry design.
Every necklace in the seven-piece collection, which Jewel Boxing and Greenwich St. debuted today, is named after a summer cocktail—something two jewelry-loving friends might enjoy together on a celebratory night out.
The Spritz necklace holds a watery blue aquamarine pendant; the Sangria’s is a fiery red garnet. An effervescent spinel hangs from the Cosmo, while a blue sapphire is on the necklace named Aviation (after the cocktail that includes crème de violette).
Other necklaces in the collab are the sunstone Paloma; the Mimosa, with a zircon like bright sunshine; and the Martini, which has a tourmaline pendant.
Prices range from $1,800 to $4,400 for the necklaces, which are all made in Greenwich St. Jewelers’ Manhattan workshop. Greenwich St. co-owner Jennifer Gandia says she and Xarissa wished to make the pieces accessible to all gemstone fans, especially those who follow Jewel Boxing and are building up their jewelry collection.
Several of Xarissa’s fans have visited the Tribeca store after watching Jewel Boxing videos on TikTok or Instagram, and Gandia hopes they see their style reflected in this new collaboration. Gandia says she and the Greenwich St. team follow Jewel Boxing on social media, and she appreciates how Xarissa is relatable to younger fine-jewelry purchasers and seeks to educate her audience about gems and jewels.
“Xarissa is very honest, and I find that refreshing. She shares as she learns. It’s a new way of connecting with the general public, especially younger people who are interested in fine jewelry. She’s filling a void,” says Gandia.
Before they joined forces on a collection, Greenwich St. had made a necklace for Xarissa with a gem she brought to them. She’d first reached out to Greenwich St. to design jewelry for her personal collection about two years ago.
“We wanted to work with her in a way that felt authentic, not a manufactured sales opportunity,” says Gandia. “So when she brought in her gemstone, it felt right.”
Xarissa began creating content online in 2022 as a passion project, yet her accounts quickly grew in popularity. Now she has more than 40,000 followers and has sought to cultivate a community of jewelry admirers.
“I felt that most jewelry content I saw on social media was created by brands or sellers. I wanted to create a space similar to what fashion bloggers do, talking about styling and collecting from the shopper’s perspective,” Xarissa says. “I personally needed a lot of education when I was starting to buy pieces for myself, so I’m just sharing what I learned.”
She praises the warm staff at Greenwich St. Jewelers, and says that working with them has been a pleasure. The pendants in the Jewel Boxing collab were designed to showcase their gemstones, Gandia says. Setting each stone in an open and light 14k gold basket allows the gem to be enjoyed from multiple angles. All the gemstones are traceable, and recycled gold is used for the collection.
“I love that they’re a small, woman- and minority-owned business in a field traditionally dominated by men. And also that they take such pride in their custom work,” Xarissa says. “We really wanted to make these by hand with a whole rainbow of stones so the people who buy them really feel they have a special, distinctive piece.”
