The 2021 Grammy Awards took place last night, and it was held mostly in person—which meant we were treated to some tasty red carpet fashion and jewelry moments, courtesy of pop music’s biggest stars.
Here are our favorite jewelry looks from music’s biggest night of the year:
Beyoncé
The huge gold bird brooch (and voluminous gown) by Schiaparelli that Lady Gaga wore to the presidential inauguration in January set the stage for the revived fashion house to become a go-to brand for the A-list. So it wasn’t surprising to see queen-of-everything Beyoncé in a custom Schiaparelli leather dress and incredible gold-tone earrings from Schiaparelli’s Bijoux Couture collection. Still, our first look at the absolutely huge, sculptural, matte-gold earrings inspired an eye-widening oooooh moment.
Megan Thee Stallion
Best Rap Performance winner Megan Thee Stallion’s bright orange Dolce & Gabbana gown added a welcome dollop of color to the red carpet. And the fact that her every extremity was dripping in diamonds was delightful. The ice came courtesy of Chopard: earrings with 4.02 cts. t.w. of diamonds set in 18k white gold from the Happy Diamonds collection; a necklace featuring 91.70 cts. t.w. diamonds set in 18k white gold from the Red Carpet collection; a bracelet with 83.42 cts. t.w. diamonds set in 18k white Fairmined gold from the Green Carpet collection; a bracelet featuring 33.80 cts. t.w. pear-shape diamonds set in 18k white Fairmined gold from the Haute Joaillerie collection; and a ring featuring 3.31 cts. t.w. round brilliant-cut diamond surrounded by 6.47 cts. t.w. diamonds set in 18k white gold from the Magical Setting collection.
Harry Styles
Harry Styles, arguably the planet’s most prolific and skilled cis-male jewelry wearer, complemented his thrift shop-inspired outfit, which included a purple feather boa and plaid sweater, with a mash-up of rings to achieve that louche, devil-may-care look that’s become his signature.
H.E.R.
H.E.R., who won Song of the Year for “I Can’t Breathe,” wore a cool velvet robe and pants ensemble from Dundas, gold rings, amber-tinted round glasses, and a gorgeous diamond drop necklace from Sheryl Jones—a former MTV executive, and one of the first and few Black women to work in NYC’s Diamond District.
Dua Lipa
Best Pop Vocal Album winner Dua Lipa—in the grand tradition of pop divas that came before her (Rihanna, J. Lo, and Beyoncé)—donned a so-called naked dress (meaning it was essentially see-through) from Versace for the event. And naked dresses always need jewels. Lipa accessorized with loads of gemstone pieces: diamond jewelry from Bulgari, a pink sapphire Scatter ring from Ananya, and Spinelli Kilcollin’s Delphinius Rouge ring (see above).
Doja Cat
Grammy nominee and performer Doja Cat (pictured at top) looked chic and polished in moody, oversize black diamond earrings and ear pieces from Ofira.
