Ben Bridge CEO Lisa Bridge (pictured) and geology professor Wendy Bohrson have joined GIA’s board of governors.
Bridge heads Ben Bridge Jeweler, the 36-store Seattle-based chain owned by Berkshire Hathaway. She is the immediate past president of the American Gem Society and serves on the board of Jewelers for Children and the advisory committee of the Black in Jewelry Coalition.
Bohrson is a professor of geology and geological engineering at the Colorado School of Mines. In her 35-year academic career, she has worked extensively on magma systems and contributed to major research collaborations on volcanic process. Bohrson holds a Ph.D. in geology from UCLA and a bachelor of science in geology and biology from Stanford University.
