Tura Sugden debuted her eponymous line in 2013, and her reputation for beautifully made organic-looking designs soon followed. After obtaining a BFA in sculpture in 2008, Sugden went on to pursue seven more years of training in gold- and silversmithing as well as other advanced techniques in Belgium, Maine, Tennessee, Kansas, and California. Her signature: a knife-edge effect paired with organic-looking colors and shapes of stones and recycled and Fairmined metals. She fabricates everything in 18k and 22k gold, palladium, and platinum, and favors sliced diamonds. “They are a unique challenge to work with due to their structure and thickness, but they lend an organic and ethereal quality,” she explains. Also of note: her use of a German blowpipe for gold and intricate fabrication.
