Justin Aaron Brown’s high school passion for jewelry-making (chain mail, in particular) paved the way for the emerging design career he has today. The force behind Justin Brown Jewelry debuted his line to the trade in December 2015 with a signature style highlighting a play of space between positive and negative—a look that is evident in his partial halo design. A jewelry design and metals arts degree from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth helped prepare him for year of bench work for others, followed by sales of couture-level jewelry. And now on his own, Brown hand fabricates recycled and ethically mined silver and 14k gold styles featuring moonstone, amazonite, ruby, black spinel, tourmaline, and morganite. Bonus: “All diamonds in my work are recycled,” he says.
