Dana Bronfman describes her jewelry as “quietly bold,” but the jewelry newbie’s (her eponymous firm debuted in October 2014) handiwork already commands a presence. Bronfman’s signature is industrial architectural (rivets are a recurring theme) that balance structure, sculpture, and negative space. Hidden elements, meanwhile, are evident in pieces with movement, including ones that resemble city bridges. A onetime nonprofit worker, Bronfman abandoned that post to pursue jewelry dreams. Her grandmother’s collection of Native American and Mexican jewelry helped shape youthful memories; study abroad in Barcelona, Spain, opened her eyes to design; a trip to Santa Fe, N.M., introduced her to the creative power available at a jeweler’s bench; and enrollment in the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco gave her the skills necessary to create a collection. Find Bronfman in the Design Center at JCK Las Vegas among the Rising Stars. All jewels are made in New York City.
