Share

Freeman’s auction house is merging with former competitor Hindman to form a new company, Freeman’s | Hindman.

The combined auctioneer will have six salesrooms and 18 regional offices across the United States. It is opening an office in New York City this month and also plans to expand into international markets as well as digitally.

Alyssa D. Quinlan will serve as the new entity’s CEO, after becoming head of Hindman in January 2023. Fraser Niven, chief executive of Freeman’s, will be its president.

At 220 years old, Philadelphia-based Freeman’s is considered America’s oldest auction house. Hindman, based out of Chicago, was founded in 1982.
