Fourth Time’s the Charm for Melee the Show Tucson

Share

For the fourth year in a row, Melee the Show is coming to Tucson. From Feb. 5 to 7, the designer jewelry fair will open at Stillwell House, a historic venue in downtown Tucson, just a few minutes’ walk from the convention center (home to the AGTA GemFair).

Melee founders Lauren Wolf and Rebecca Overmann answered three questions about the event, which stands out among Tucson’s loose gem fairs for its focus on finished fine jewelry.

What’s new for this year’s event?

This year, we’re excited to welcome 12 new designers to the show, including Paola Zovar, Studio Baharra, Siri Hansdotter, Renata Cambaúva, Heather Guidero, Human Design Studios, and Seth Michael. We’re also bringing back our annual opening party, which is always a big highlight. It’s a great way to kick things off, with over 100 press, buyers, and jewelers coming together for drinks, dinner, and live music from a mariachi band. It’s a fun, relaxed evening and really sets the tone for the days ahead.

Tucson is primarily focused on loose gems. Why should buyers keep a finished jewelry show like Melee in mind?

Our designers are highly creative and specialize in one-of-a-kind pieces that stand out for their uniqueness. Melee the Show Tucson is a show for jewelers, by jewelers, where you’ll find artisans who are deeply passionate about craftsmanship and design. It’s truly jewelry with a unique point of view.

We often attract a unique mix of jewelers and buyers—those who are not only designers but also run stores featuring other designers’ work. They come to discover new talent, purchase stones, and connect with their clients. If you’re focused on loose stones, that’s great, but if you’re looking for jewelry with a creative perspective, Melee offers pieces that are artistically crafted, focused on artistry and craftsmanship rather than mass production.
