Francesca Amfitheatrof, former design director for Tiffany & Co., has joined Louis Vuitton as artistic director of watches and jewelry, according to a report in WWD.
She will oversee all designs for the brand’s jewelry and watches, the newspaper said.
The company could not be reached for comment. However, Amfirtheatrof subsequently confirmed the news on Instagram.
“So excited to join @louisvuitton as Artistic Director Jewelry and Watches and to be given the opportunity to work with this true luxury brand,” she wrote.
Amiftheatrof first came on board Tiffany in 2013. She was the first woman to hold that role. She left the company about four years later. A trained jeweler and silversmith with degrees from London’s Royal College of Art and Central Saint Martins, she has also created jewelry for Chanel, Fendi, Marni, Alessi, and Asprey & Garrard.
