Carla Liuni (pictured), former vice president of global marketing and communications at LVMH-owned brand Bulgari, will join Pandora as its chief marketing officer in March 2020, the company announced.
Jesper Damsgaard, currently serving as interim chief marketing officer, will transition to a new role after a handover.
Liuni has worked at Bulgari for the past four years. Prior to that, she spent almost 20 years at Procter & Gamble, where she was general manager for the Prestige division, which included fragrance, makeup, and skin care brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, and Hugo Boss. She also held other brand, sales, and general management positions, running businesses across Europe and Asia.
Liuni’s appointment marks something of a change for Pandora, which has generally recruited executives from outside the jewelry industry.
“As part of our turnaround program, we are significantly stepping up our marketing investments and have just relaunched our brand to improve relevance for consumers,” said Pandora chief executive officer Alexander Lacik in a statement. “Carla has a unique profile which combines mass market brand building with the ability to create the aspirational and desirable worlds of luxury goods.”
Added Liuni in the same statement: “[Pandora] is now on an incredibly exciting transformation journey to drive brand relevance as the centerpiece of its turnaround, and I look forward to joining the team and contributing.”
