Eva Violante has been promoted to head of the Americas department for Phillips Jewels, a division of the auction house.
Violante joined Phillips in May 2018. In her tenure there, she has brought to auction a number of important jewels, including items from the personal jewelry collection of designer and entrepreneur Florence Knoll Bassett.
Prior to coming to Phillips, Violante served as Heritage Auctions’ fine jewelry director. At Heritage, she was responsible for the sale of a 12 ct. Kashmir sapphire, a 6 ct. flawless deco diamond solitaire by Tiffany, and helping sell the Shirley Temple jewelry estate. The subsequent auction of Temple’s jewels broke all previous jewelry auction records at the company.
She has also worked in New York City and Madrid as a senior international buyer at Circa, the pre-owned jewelry buyer.
