Equity Diamond Brokers Merges With Aneri Jewels

Cincinnati-based Equity Diamond Brokers (EDB) is merging with Aneri Jewels, an affiliate of Indian sightholder the Laxmi Diamond Group.

EDB, a diamond jewelry wholesaler and manufacturer, will continue to run independently and will still have an office in Cincinnati. The company, cofounded in 1972 by Patrick Higgins, will still be run by his son Chris, who currently serves as president.

“This industry has gone through so many changes, you really need to have alliances to take the company further,” says Allen Rosenel, an industry veteran who was recently appointed chief operating officer of the company. “We are going to have a lot more resources as part of the Laxmi family.”

EDB plans to increase the amount of trade shows it participates in, as well as the digital assets and product it offers, Rosenel says.

New York City–based Aneri Jewels was formed in 2009 by Nick Parekh, who also serves as president.

EDB will exhibit at JCK Las Vegas this year in the Plumb Club Pavilion, along with Laxmi and Aneri.
