There’s a feeling of completeness that comes with acquiring a new piece of jewelry as a new season approaches. I get nostalgic for those days of back-to-school shopping with my mom, when I’d stock up on colorful corduroys and sweaters to cozy up to in the New York fall. And there would always be a new pair of shoes.
In my adult life—not that a new pair of corduroys wouldn’t be welcome—I instead look to jewelry. I know I can rely on a great piece to shine even when I’m not (yoga pants and t-shirts comprise my current uniform). I count a gold pendant and opal stud earrings as my most recent seasonal acquisitions, and as September approaches, I’m feeling like a great pair of dangling earrings will be my go-to.
For statement earrings, who better than the fabulous Irene Neuwirth? You know the California designer for her creations’ red carpet appearances, and her one-of-a-kind jewelry is the stuff of dreams.
Inspired by the ocean and with a gift for working with rich-hued gemstones, Neuwirth opened her flagship store in West Hollywood in 2014. Her wares are carried in a number of beloved stores around the country—from New York to California—and in stores across the pond, too. And just in time for the 2018 Emmy Awards (airing on September 17), Irene Neuwirth will hold a trunk show at Dallas, Texas’ Ylang 23, from September 13–14.
Speaking of the Emmys, you’ll no doubt see some of her creations there—and we’ll be talking about who wore what here on JCKonline, as always—but for now, enjoy some of these classic Irene Neuwirth designs, and covet them along with me.
