It’s official: Harry Winston is out, and Ekati is in.
Dominion Diamond Corp.—formerly the Harry Winston Diamond Corp.—has completed its acquisition of the Ekati diamond mine, located in the Northwest Territories of Canada. It recently completed the sale of its Harry Winston luxury division to the Swatch Group.
The final purchase price was $553 million, with $53 million of adjustments.
The company, which also owns 40 percent of the nearby Diavik diamond mine, has indicated it would like to buy the rest of Diavik.
