DKNY introduced its first line of hybrid smartwatches, DKNY Minute, at Baselworld 2017 yesterday. And the trio of watches features the expected suit of tech functions: smartphone notifications (via vibration patterns), activity tracking, controls for your phone’s music playlist, and basic sleep tracking.
The watches embrace the streamlined, sporty aesthetics that have become ubiquitous in the wearables industry—perhaps because its players are coming to grips with the fact that the main reason people buy wearables is to track their health and fitness, not to talk into their wrists during a conference call.
The new collection boasts three styles: silver, gold, and rose gold cases are paired with black or white leather straps or a red quilted strap, and each style is accompanied with an interchangeable quilted pinstripe silicone strap.
The coin cell battery is built to last up to four months. And users can set up a second time zone, which they can access by pushing a single button.
According to the company, the watches will range from $155 to $175 and will be available on DKNY.com and in select boutiques and department stores for the holiday 2017 season.
