They will both receive Diamonds Do Good awards at the annual gala in June in Las Vegas
The Diamond Empowerment Fund (DEF) will present the Diamonds Do Good award for sustainable practices to Dorothée Gizenga and the Diamonds Do Good award for community development to Chow Tai Fook at its annual Diamonds Do Good Awards Gala on June 2 in Las Vegas.
Gizenga (pictured) became the first executive director of the Diamond Development Initiative in 2008. Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, she is now a Canadian citizen and has worked to develop the DDI’s mission to transform artisanal mining into a source of sustainable development.
Chow Tai Fook is being honored for its community work, including its support of UNICEF’s programs in China that bring health care to children and mothers in rural villages.
