De Beers has appointed Nimesh Patel, who worked as group head of corporate finance for parent company Anglo American, as its chief financial officer.
He replaces Gareth Mostyn, who is becoming the company’s executive head of strategy of corporate affairs. Mostyn replaces Bruce Cleaver, who moved to Anglo.
Prior to joining Anglo American, Nimesh spent 15 years in investment banking at JPMorgan and as a managing director at UBS.
“I am delighted to welcome him to De Beers at what is an exciting time in the company’s evolution,” said Philippe Mellier, De Beers CEO, in a statement.
