De Beers Debuts Its 1st Gender-Neutral Collection

Share

Gender-neutral jewels are going strong in the world of fine jewelry. In August, Tiffany & Co. unveiled the Tiffany Lock, an all-gender bangle collection. And now De Beers is following suit with the introduction of its first-ever genderless collection, De Beers RVL.

“The beauty of this collection is that there is no prescription about who should wear these pieces or how they should be styled; it is entirely up to the wearer,” said the CEO of De Beers, Céline Assimon, in a statement. Featuring adaptable designs, the pieces can be worn alone, stacked, or styled in seemingly infinite ways to suit any preference.

The seven-piece collection includes a mix of pendants, rings, and bracelets: four in 18k white gold and diamonds and three in 18k rose gold and black titanium. Each piece incorporates De Beers’ monogram with “D” and “B” outlines engraved in lines to mimic the appearance of code, or a gear when viewed from the side, drawing parallels to the ambiguous nature of gender expression.

“The designs feature a secret code, but they also reflect striations visible in rocks, which reveal the story of the earth in which our diamonds were formed naturally. De Beers RVL serves to signify both our commitment to design jewelry that allows our clients express who they are and our heritage as pioneers of diamond perfection,” said Assimon.

Available globally, De Beers RVL ranges from $950 for the rose gold and black titanium band (shown above) to $5,900 for the white gold and diamond pendant (shown at top).
