David Heston makes jewelry for men: thick, heavy links that you might mistake for security chain were a padlock evident instead of diamond pavé. And the 4.5 cts. t.w. of black melee that stud this 145 gram sterling bracelet enhance the guy factor even more; after all, who else could carry off this look but a big, burly dude?
Heston, the force behind Heston Designs in San Rafael, Calif., is known for turning out styles like these. In fact, this number is a familiar look in his line, but with some updates debuted at JCK Las Vegas. For example, the toggle clasp replaces a long-favored lobster claw, and the H logo and tag help keep the Heston name top of mind for wearers. The diamonds, meanwhile, elevate the look over its plain metal predecessor.
“It’s a large piece, but for the size of it, it’s comfortable and lays really nicely on the body,” he explains. He sold the first one to a Seattle area store, but another is in the works for an Austin, Texas–based client who wants to use it in a new advertising campaign with a pro football linebacker/brand ambassador.
