Model, actress, and jewelry designer Xiao Wang summons her inner gem geek with a new jewelry collection inspired by outer space and far-out faceted rare gems and minerals.
Her new Galaxy Rare Collection is a 28-piece assortment of styles in 18k yellow and white gold with icy-gray diamonds, obsidian, priceite, neptunite, chondrite meteorite, and more.
“These jewels are a spin-off from my Galaxy Collection, which was originally inspired by the manga series Galaxy Express 999!” says Wang. “I’m a gem nerd, and it’s been very exciting to put this collection together with so many interesting faceted rare gemstones and minerals. The goal is to be untraditional and have a fresh take on serious fine jewelry. I particularly selected rare gemstones with names that relate to Galaxy and perhaps even resemble Galaxy.”
Retail prices start at $730, and items are available to ship now. (Twist in Portland, Ore., and Broken English, with stores in New York City and Santa Monica, Calif., already have them in store.) Buy-in is from four to eight pieces.
