Lagos’ iconic Caviar collection gets a little work done for spring 2016
Steven Lagos’ signature Caviar beaded—like the delicacy—looks in silver are as desirable now as when he debuted them more than 40 years ago. But after four decades, who couldn’t use a little shot of youth? To that end, the Philadelphia-based jewelry designer unveils a Caviar Color collection with some modern flair. Expect to see bezel settings, curvier Caviar beading—including in 18k gold—around the gems, and one sugar-loaf-cut cabochon gemstone a year (for 2016 it’s amethyst). “This gives our Caviar gemstone portfolio a modern update,” Lagos explains.
In typical Lagos fashion, a big marketing push à la print and digital ads and social media campaigns will help spread the word.
Some 68 SKUs are in the collection, which features Rose de France, amethyst, blue topaz, white topaz, and green quartz. Retail prices start at $395, and retailer buy-in is upwards of 18 pieces.
