A new collection speaks to the literal ground the artist stands on in her home country
Designer Ilana Ariel Sarna’s body of work has a pattern—“points of reference on a time line,” explains the artist in an email interview from Tel Aviv, Israel.
“My first collection, Legacy, is about where one comes from, my Ten Eleven collection is about where one begins, and my Stepping Stone jewelry symbolizes where one’s going,” she continues.
Her fourth, meanwhile, follows a more literal path in that Grounded signifies where one lands and is inspired by Mediterranean tiles from the streets of Tel Aviv.
“Grounded collection not only imitates the literal ground I stood on, but it was also designed during a time I was grounding myself in a new place,” she says.
At the same time, Grounded offers wearable motifs that relate to the brand’s identity of “timeless fine jewelry that’s also distinctive,” says Sarna. “I think what makes this collection particularly attractive is the uniqueness of its shapes.”
