If you’ve been reading On Your Market long enough—even a short time, really—you’ve probably gleaned that I’m a massive Disney fan. So it’s no surprise that I’ve been anticipating the latest film from Disney-Pixar, Coco. It’s a vividly colorful world that I can’t wait to be immersed in, with early reviews singing its praises.
I’m bound for Walt Disney World next weekend, where I’m sure there will be a number of Coco encounters (Disney is the synergy expert, of course), so this news from fabulous jewelry designer Alex Woo was right on time and so exciting.
Her latest collection features a line of whimsical icons inspired by the movie, from sugar skulls to marigolds, music notes, and miniature guitars. It’s all so crushingly cute, I’m having trouble containing myself.
This isn’t Woo’s first foray into the world of movie magic, either. After five collaborations with DisneyNature and lines inspired by favorite films like Finding Dory and Moana, she’s an absolute Disney darling.
This particular collection seems to strike the designer as much as it does yours truly (and I haven’t even seen the movie yet!). “The storyline is very sophisticated, much like [Disney-Pixar’s] Inside Out,” says Woo. “It’s really heartwarming and emotional.”
With most of the pieces clocking in under $500, the collection is perfect for holiday gifting, too. (Ahem, I like the sugar skull.) Go loco.
