Collectability, an e-commerce platform for pre-owned and vintage Patek Philippe, has forged an exclusive partnership with the New Jersey and south Florida store Hamilton Jewelers to showcase the watches, marking Collectability’s entry into brick-and-mortar retailing.
John Reardon, founder of Collectability, is curating the rotating selection of vintage Patek Philippe timepieces sold at Hamilton’s flagship in Princeton, N.J., and two Palm Beach locations, as well as on Hamilton’s website. Collectors who go to Hamilton stores are now able to physically examine the watches and their intricate craftsmanship.
“Trying on and experiencing a Patek Philippe watch in person is the best way to truly appreciate exceptional quality and craftsmanship,” Reardon said in a statement. Hank Siegel, president and CEO of Hamilton Jewelers, added, “With their [Collectability’s] exceptional guidance and carefully curated selection, we are able to enhance our presentation and provide our clients with the best-in-class service.”
Hamilton Jewelers, a fourth-generation family-owned fine jewelry and watch retailer, has a relationship with Patek Philippe dating back to 1938, and the new arrangement with Collectability establishes Hamilton as a premier destination for vintage timepieces from the 186-year-old Swiss brand.
The Hamilton/Collectability partnership addresses the growing pre-owned watch market—projected to reach $45 billion in sales by 2030, the companies said—by providing trusted and knowledgeable sales team to work with people shopping or browsing secondhand timepieces. The expert guidance and personalized service available in store will help bridge the gap between aspiring and seasoned collectors.
