New York City-based Jacob & Co. announced the appointment of former Circa CEO Chris Del Gatto to the position of chief executive officer this week during the Baselworld fair.
Jacob & Co. founder Jacob (“Jacob the Jeweler”) Arabo will now serve as chairman.
“We are thrilled… to have had Chris Del Gatto join us as CEO,” said Arabo in a statement. “It’s a time of evolution and growth.”
Top priorities for Del Gatto include investing in marketing, opening new retail store locations around the world, and seeking out long-term growth opportunities with partners, including a new partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo as the face of Jacob & Co. watches.
Previously, Del Gatto served as a cofounder and CEO of Circa. He left the company last summer. Former Zale exec Mary Forte has been named acting CEO.
