Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group (CTF) has appointed Gabriela “Gaby” Ferreira international general manager, as the Chinese jewelry powerhouse seeks to expand its footprint in Southeast Asia and other international markets.

Ferreira joins CTF from the LVMH-owned handbag brand Loewe, where she served as general manager for Southeast Asia and Oceania.

In her new role, Ferreira will build a team in Singapore to grow CTF’s presence in Southeast Asia.

CTF sees considerable opportunity in the region, due to its “rising middle class and projected economic growth…coupled with the recovery in tourism and sustained local market demand for jewelry,” the company said in a statement.

Added managing director Kent Wong: “Gaby will drive the expansion of Chow Tai Fook Jewellery’s retail network in popular travel retail markets and in areas with a significant customer population who understand and appreciate Chinese culture, art, and beauty.”

Chow Tai Fook currently has seven points of sale in Singapore, seven in Malaysia, three in Thailand, two in the Philippines, two in Vietnam, and one in Cambodia. It also has two points of sale in Japan, seven in Korea, two in Canada, and one in the United States. In 2016, it purchased the Boston-based diamond brand Hearts On Fire.
