Antwerp-based diamond company Choron Group has acquired De Beers sightholder AMC Group, effective Jan. 1, and will integrate AMC’s facilities into its international network.
AMC (Arodiam Manufacturing Company) has been headquartered in Antwerp since 1988. It has sales offices in Hong Kong and Shanghai and manufacturing facilities in Belgium and South Africa.
The transaction was initiated and facilitated by the Bonas Group, a diamond industry brokerage and consultancy. No financial details were provided.
David Parnas, CEO of the AMC Group, said in a statement: “On behalf of the Parnas and Mai families, we are delighted to join forces with the Choron Group…. This takeover ensures a bright future for our combined operations.”
In August 2023, Choron acquired what it termed a “significant shareholding” in Burgundy Diamond Mines, the Australian company that owns the Ekati diamond mine in Canada’s Northwest Territories.
