Set in the picturesque South Downs near Chichester, England, Goodwood Racecourse is renowned for its undulating track and stunning sights—both surrounding the track and within the stands. The West Sussex venue is currently hosting the annual Qatar Goodwood Festival (often called “Glorious Goodwood”), a highlight of the British flat racing season. And for the second consecutive year, Italian jeweler Buccellati is the title race partner of the Buccellati Handicap Stakes, held on the third day of the July 30–Aug. 3 event.
A bespoke silver trophy designed by Andrea Buccellati, to be awarded to the owner of the winning horse in the Buccellati Handicap Stakes, has been unveiled and displayed in the Buccellati box at Goodwood, alongside a collection of one-of-a-kind jewelry and silverware.
This year, Buccellati is also sponsoring Eleanor Franchitti and Timeless Beauty in the Magnolia Cup, a charity run of novice yet influential and inspiring female jockeys. All proceeds from the race support My Sisters’ House, a local center that supports women’s well-being, with programs aimed at mitigating domestic abuse and aiding recovery.
It’s only natural the Goodwood Festival would partner with a sophisticated, elevated brand such as Buccellati, since the event attracts the world’s top horses, jockeys, and trainers as participants as well as members of the upper echelons of society as spectators, including British royals (King Charles III and Queen Camilla, among them) and celebrities (Michael Caine, Elizabeth Hurley, and TV host Claudia Winkleman are regulars). Featuring prestigious races such as the Sussex Stakes, Goodwood Cup, and Nassau Stakes, the “glorious” event is about not only sport but also style and socializing.
