Britt’s Pick: Yoko London’s Cleopatra Flower Necklace

Share

As someone making an effort to better live in the moment, I should be soaking in all the emeralds (my birthstone) so bountifully on display this month. Then along comes this persuasive case for looking ahead to June’s birthstone—and, really, is there ever a wrong time for pearls?

Certainly not when it comes to this exquisitely luxurious—but ultimately cool—necklace from Yoko London’s Cleopatra collection, inspired by the beauty and grandeur of ancient Egypt. With three strands of pearls swooping down from the botanical centerpiece, the necklace takes on almost a bolo look—which plays beautifully into the currently hot Western trend.

But even when the craze for cowboy-style fashion inevitably wanes, this jewel will be an everlasting sensation for numerous occasions. A pink opal and sapphire flower anchors its design, with smaller pink opal and diamond blooms above it on each side and rose gold and diamond leafy shapes ascending further up the necklace.

Yoko also offers a pair of matching earrings for jewelry-wearers looking for that suite life (or for anyone who may want to wear the earrings on their own). The earrings comprise that same floral design of pink opals, pink sapphires, diamonds, and pearls, and they sit fairly large on the ears as sophisticated statement studs. You can observe the carved detail in the opal quite well here, and appreciate just how intricate the jewels are.

Yoko London, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, will be showcasing these and other new pieces at the Couture jewelry show in Las Vegas later this month.
