Here’s yet another one from the wickedly talented designer Martha Seely, and this just may be my favorite of her creations yet. Dubbed Earthrise, this beauty from Seely’s new Eclipse collection features a round, planet-like boulder opal, hugged along one side by a crescent of yellow-green diamonds and flanked on the other with a round tanzanite—a second planet, according to the designer. Its appearance really is as if you’re witnessing some sort of celestial event, frozen in motion and preserved to enjoy forever. If you are, like me, a sucker for anything celestial—and opal, for that matter—the one-of-a-kind ring should find a place among your most covetable jewels. Look out for new additions to the Eclipse collection—a necklace and earrings, I am told—coming soon.
