Britt’s Pick: K. Mita’s Pink Mystique Earrings

I remember a fall a few years back when oxblood was all the rage. That deep, luscious, blood red was a stunner in every iteration: clothing, accessories, wool, velvet, leather. And of course, it was a breeze to find jewels to fit the bill, particularly garnet but also ruby and sometimes a wine-tinged pink sapphire or tourmaline.

We may have moved on to other color trends this season (I personally can’t get enough of yellow right now—what say you?), but that beautiful, haunting red will always have a place come autumn. That’s why K. Mita‘s Pink Mystique earrings caught my eye; they’re a bit on the lighter side in color, but possess an irresistible punch of drama, particularly when matched with a rich, textured border of gold. I love the playful asymmetric design, done simply yet effectively with the flip of a pear-shape stone. Sapphires and rubies accent the central tourmalines, with sparkling diamonds for good measure, exhibiting the most fabulous study in pink you’ll see this fall.

Pink Mystique earrings in 14k yellow gold with 17.2 cts. t.w. bicolor pink tourmaline, 0.29 ct. t.w. pink sapphire, 0.08 ct. t.w. ruby, and diamonds, $4,160
