As we move into winter, it feels trickier somehow to incorporate products that are really rich with color. Too bright and it feels out of place, sticking out like a sore thumb in a sea of deeper shades. Too many colors and again, those carefully curated combinations of the current season feel outpaced.
But having it all is not impossible this time of year, and this glitzy pair of earrings by Facet Barcelona is the perfect example.
They maintain the cheery disposition of the rainbow trend that belongs to spring and summer while toning it down with slightly deeper, more autumnal and winter-worthy shades.
It helps, too, that the stones—treated diamonds—are set in rose gold, a rustic choice that works beautifully alongside the bold rainbow. A more contrasting metal like white gold or platinum would amplify the stones’ brightness, I think, putting the earrings in summer—or at least early fall—territory.
Another big pro for these beauties: They’re in that hoop-but-not-a-hoop shape that seems all the rage at the moment (wreath, loop, open circle, what have you), descending from the ear in a graceful swoop that’s versatile in its wear.
Facet Barcelona, a company specializing in the design, manufacture, and distribution of fine jewelry, celebrated its 30th year in business in 2017. With sales offices in Barcelona, New York, Paris, and Munich, the company employs over 500 people.
If you’re a fan of this color combination, the company also offers a bracelet in the same style, and it’s another fabulous take on the trendy, friendship-style bracelet with adjustable fit.
There are even more rainbow-style pieces on the brand’s website, including a pretty sweet pair of line earrings I’m currently crushing on. To see them all, visit facetbarcelona.com.
