It’s the final Britt’s Pick of the year, and it’s gotta go to a pair of earrings.
Earrings are the perfect gift: They always fit, even if our clothes don’t. They are always noticed on Zoom calls, and they distract even from third- (or fourth-) day hair.
I could go almost an entire year without changing my earrings. The group I currently wear is meaningfully curated, and it’s a pretty permanent exhibit (it also helps that for the last two years, I haven’t had many places to go that would influence much of a change). But there’s something about the holidays, when a pair of dangling earrings just adds to the festivities.
You can’t go wrong with the look either. You can do hoops large or small (or a group of varied sizes!), chandelier earrings dripping with gemstones, pavé diamond drops, whatever you feel suits the occasion best.
This year, I’m feeling this pair by Nana Fink. With their rich berry blossoms—a burst of color that comes from carved rubies—and denim-color sapphires, they offer holiday style that feels a little bit like a classic Christmas film brought to life in Technicolor.
There’s vintage appeal to this elegant pair—Fink excels in her craft of old world–style jewels—and their outright luxuriousness does feel best suited to more formal attire. But that’s not to say a casual ensemble would suffer under their wear—rather, the earrings would enhance even cozy flannel pajamas (and these earrings paired with matching family sleepwear would be absolutely everything this holiday).
