The spotlight on the hoop earring has been shining brighter than ever these last couple of seasons, and it refuses to be dimmed. This is all fine by me—there’s no easier pop of chic, in my opinion, than the humble hoop.
Though that isn’t to say that all hoop earrings are exactly humble. More complex versions are hitting the market seemingly by the day, laden in gemstones and dangling charms, geometric detail and mixed metals. Each and every variation is, in its own way, perfect—the ideal accompaniment to a summer’s-day uniform of simple dress and ponytail, the bare minimum to keep cool when the mercury hits 100.
