A must-see (and must-try-on) at JCK Las Vegas 2016
The center stone of Dallas Prince Designs‘ Twilight ring is impressive in its own right, but when coupled with the detailed, glittering setting it’s presented in, boy, does it pack a wallop. The cool green-to-blue-to-purple tones seem an obvious pairing for white metals, but its unexpected rose gold housing is a smart style choice. The rosy hue provides a softness that seems to contrast and support the tanzanite at the same time, and when viewed from the side, you really get to see the rose gold shine. Intricate curves and swirls adorn the gallery, with bezel-set diamonds sprinkled in to catch the light just right. The pattern continues down the band of the ring, with a floral, open filigree pattern that leaves no portion of the ring left undetailed. This is one of those pieces that doesn’t just rely on its starring gemstone to impress: It sets the stage for it and provides a supporting cast to ensure that the presentation is a success. I do think that it deserves a standing ovation—join me, won’t you?
