I’m terrible at living in the moment. For example, here we are, at the beginning of a beautiful summer, and I’m thinking about fall. I get a whiff of something even remotely similar to pumpkin, and I’m looking to light those autumn candles. I’m brainstorming Halloween costumes. I’m craving harvesty foods, and it’s way too hot to turn on the oven to make them.
Jewels like this only add to my autumnal anticipation, because they have me dreaming of red carpet events. The Emmy Awards will air on Sunday, Sept. 22, sort of a kickoff to the season. This is the time when you get a load of what the biggest trends may be for the months ahead, as celebrities roll in with their summer tans and refreshed auras. If we’re lucky, they’ll be decked out in memorable jewels that we can spend the next week chattering about.
These earrings, from Color Source Gems, would be perfect for the event. They’re opulent, juicy, and have plenty of sparkle—just right for that time of year when it’s too warm in most places to go full-on fall attire, but you still want to dress the part. That ruby red is always a hit when the weather begins to cool (rubies are vibrant in winter, too) and for your customers shopping for their own special events, well, look no further.
Color Source Gems is a New York City–based, family-owned company that specializes in—you won’t find this surprising—colored stones. They exhibited at Luxury by JCK this year, where jewels like the earrings pictured were right at home in all the splendor.
For now, I’m going to try to enjoy the fact that summer is just really beginning, because, as many of you probably can attest, we’ll be lamenting its passing by the time December rolls around. But if I keep getting an eyeful of jewels like this, those efforts are certainly going to be tested.
