Many styles are going oversize, a nice departure from the norm, and a contrast to the ever-present quiet luxury.
For the fall and coming holiday seasons, I love a hardy piece that doesn’t break the bank but still shines with good quality. Most consumers don’t want to spend a fortune having a little fun dressing in statement pieces, but they want them to last, too.
Christina Caruso has just the pair of earrings for a fashionable fall refresh. Though its name may bring forth thoughts of tropical temperatures, the Palm Leaf earring has that warm gold look appropriate for our current cooler season, with a shape and texture resembling its namesake’s. The earrings are handmade in New York of 14k gold-plated recycled brass.
“I’m inspired by architecture, clean lines with a touch of nature, and organic shapes,” says Caruso. “It’s finding that perfect balance for me to create pieces that work harmoniously together.
“The Palm Leaf earrings were imagined during a trip to Florida,” she continues. “I love taking inspiration from nature to create the ultimate statement piece. I drew the design by hand and worked with our model maker to engineer how they hang from the ears. It’s a delicate balance of size, shape, and weight. After many attempts, we perfected the earrings. There is a left earring and a right earring, two separate models.”
And here’s something cool for customers—and other jewelers—to take note of: On the product page of Christina Caruso’s website, there’s a video of the designer modeling and talking about the earrings. In the age of e-commerce, this demonstrates a thoughtful, personal way to showcase offerings online (also, how amazing do these earrings look when they’re on?!).
