Britt’s Pick: Annele’s Wet ’n Wild Hoop Earrings

Share

A great pair of hoop earrings has my attention any time, but in the summer an especially colorful pair grabs me even more.

Positively stacked with joyous color, the Wet ’n Wild collection released in May by Finnish jewelry brand Annele was designed to evoke the feel of a summer holiday. Picture lazy poolside days, swaying palms, the glitter of the waves as they roll in under the sun—it’s all packed into the vibrant, wonderfully affordable jewels that comprise Wet ’n Wild.

There are a number of different earring styles—hoops, huggies, dangles—along with bangle and charm-like bracelets, rings, pendants, and necklaces. Each piece makes a compelling argument for piling on plenty of jewelry this summer, but I’m partial to the hoops. Under fun names like Surf’s Up, Banananess, and Apple Dew, these earrings—available in gold- or silver-plated sterling silver—dangle with a bouquet of bulbous glass beads in shades of blue, green, yellow, or orange.

I can’t help but imagine the impact these hoops would make in a group. Though by no means small, they are not too big (see how they look on the ear on the Annele website) and could be stacked nicely along the ear. Alternatively, layering these hoops with huggie earrings from the same collection would offer a pretty cool style too. Let this be the summer of more is more is more. But fair warning: If it’s carefree color you’re searching for, narrowing down your choice among Annele’s offerings is no easy task.
