Britt’s Pick: Palm Leaf Stud Earrings by Anita Ko

Whether your customers (and you) are reluctant to say “so long” to summer or are hurtling headfirst into autumn, this pair of earrings by Anita Ko perfectly satisfies both seasons.

The small palm leaf is an ode to summer—or at least, summerlike climates, by association—but it is definitely seasonless. For fall, I love the yellow gold version (it comes in white and rose gold, too), because those warm tones are what we collectively tend to cling to this time of year. With two wavy rows of baguettes hugging a curving center line of gold, the studs could just as well stand in for autumn leaves.

Plus, palm leaves are said to be good luck. In some religions, the palm branch symbolizes victory or success. The concept of wearing a palm leaf as a good luck charm isn’t an original one, but it’s certainly not as popular  as a horseshoe or four-leaf clover. More palms, I say!

While the larger palm leaf earring is certainly a delight for the eyes, the tiny studs (both pictured above) are so wonderfully yummy and perfect for when you wear a variety of different styles all together.

The earrings are flawless any time of year, and I think they perfectly represent that bridge between summer and fall. It’s that line we’re still straddling, one foot planted firmly in the memories of summer, the other shuffling toward the new season. These make that transition a bit easier, as they seem to say, “Don’t worry, summer is always with you.” And so into autumn we go, and soon, the holidays.

Speaking of the holidays, Anita Ko has a collection of perfectly pretty palm leaves, from rings to pendants to, of course, the earrings. The baguette diamonds featured on each makes for a luxuriously snazzy gift, one that any jewelry lover would be lucky to receive (ahem, can one of those please be me?).
