The shop will be the fifth location for the eco-friendly jeweler
Bricks-and-clicks jewelry retailer Brilliant Earth announced this week that it will open a new showroom in San Diego in March.
The new 2,000-square-foot showroom—located on the third floor of the La Plaza La Jolla open-air shopping center—will specialize in Brilliant Earth’s core products: handcrafted diamond engagement rings, wedding rings, fine jewelry, and estate pieces.
According to a company statement, the space will include French doors “that open onto a terrace with stunning ocean views, and a Southern California ambience created by La Plaza’s spacious open design and Spanish-Moroccan architectural elements.”
The San Diego showroom will be Brilliant Earth’s fifth retail space—it has showrooms in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, and Chicago, and the company plans to open additional spaces in 2017.
Founded in 2005 by Beth Gerstein and Eric Grossberg, the retailer has connected with eco-conscious consumers through its insistence on using stones that exclusively originate from mines “that adhere to strict labor and environmental standards” in its designs.
Brilliant Earth is one in a growing group of niche jewelry brands founded in the 2000s as e-commerce retailers—including AUrate, Stone & Strand, and BaubleBar—that have since branched out into physical retail.
