Bonhams’ Paris Jewels auction on April 24 at its Cornette de Saint Cyr showroom will include a single-owner collection of Chaumet pieces from several decades, as well as diamond and colored stone jewelry from major houses such as Cartier, Boucheron, Buccellati, Graff, and Van Cleef & Arpels.
“Paris Jewels includes a delightful selection of Chaumet, originating from a single-owner collection, featuring designs spanning the decades from an exceptional art deco diamond and ruby bracelet to 1970s stylized malachite and lapis lazuli designs,” said Bonhams’ head of jewelry in France, Marine Girardet, in a statement. “The sale also has highly sought-after pieces of jewelry, including a pair of Graff fancy colored diamond earrings and a striking sapphire ring weighing 21.03 carats.”
The Chaumet art deco bracelet (pictured at top) has 18k white gold geometric links set with single-cut diamonds and calibré-cut rubies. It is estimated to achieve between $11,000 and $16,000.
On April 14, Bonhams will host a presale talk by Violaine Bigot, head of heritage jewelry at Chaumet, about the maison’s 1950–1970 designs. Below are a few of the Chaumet highlights and other lots in the Paris Jewels auction.
