On May 14, international auction house Bonhams is hosting its California Jewels at its Los Angeles location—following its successful Knightsbridge Jewels sale earlier this month on May 2 in London that featured more than 200 distinct and rare jewelry lots.
“Bonhams jewelry continues to see growth and success across the globe,” said Jean Ghika, Bonhams’ global director jewelry, in a statement. “The two…May live sales taking place in London and Los Angeles both include fine examples of jewels from the most illustrious maisons presenting designs with extraordinary craftsmanship that are both wearable and highly sought-after pieces of jewelry in today’s market.”
The upcoming sale includes designs from all of the heritage houses as well as lesser-known (but equally exceptional) names alike: from a gem-studded Bulgari compact with rich gold and platinum floral designs to a platinum and diamond (nearly 12 carats!) bracelet by Harry Winston (a prime example of what the maison does best) to an oversize 8.64 ct. diamond ring expected to fetch anywhere between $50,000 and $70,000. The nearly 400-lot sale includes a mix of contemporary and vintage pieces, multicolored stones (think: sapphires, emeralds, and beyond), and unique designs—there’s something for every type of jewelry enthusiast.
Below are a few highlights of the sale, including the aforementioned pieces and more (Boucheron, Cartier, Tiffany & Co., among others).
