Bon-Ton Stores is eliminating the position of chief operating officer, the company announced in an Aug. 29 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
As a result, the department store chain’s current chief operating officer, Barbara J. Schrantz, will be terminated effective Sept. 14, the company said.
While Bon-Ton is in the midst of a turnaround under new CEO Brendan Hoffman, jewelry has consistently been a bright spot in the company’s sales.
