The Northern California–based jewelry company Belle Étoile typically maintains an action-packed trade show schedule, and 2019 is no exception. The company will be at this year’s Centurion show (in Scottsdale, Ariz., Jan. 26–30), and it’s a great chance to see its spring 2019 collection in person, especially if you own a store in a resort town or are assorting jewelry collections for those seeking well-priced, wear-now pieces to complement their tropical vacation wardrobes.
The brand is best known for its colorful enamel designs, and its bangles and cuffs are always strong. Many sport floral, exotic bird, and aquatic motifs, while others embrace geometric patterns, curlicue arabesques, and playful interpretations of established artistic design styles.
Plenty of this is available in the new collection—“beauty in nature” is the overarching theme—but the newness lies in the introduction of some unique shapes and materials.
For example, the Calypso bangle (pictured at top) and its companions pair asymmetrical shapes with resort-ready palettes worked into Pucci-esque patterns.
Prisma is a sculptural collection defined by three-dimensional silver facets arranged to create dramatic angles and edges.
This season, amethyst-purple translucent enamel joins the Marina collection’s color options.
And the company has added pieces to its popular Echelon collection made in genuine lapis lazuli.
Other standouts this season include the Venti and Riva collections, which both take their forms from the natural world, particularly the flow of ocean waves and river currents and the textures that result when the wind blows just so.
