Lisa Harper, former CEO of Hot Topic, will be his replacement
Tim Belk, the CEO of Belk since 2004, is stepping down.
The Belk family founded the North Carolina–based department store chain, and Tim Belk is the third generation of the Belks to work in the family business.
He will be replaced by Lisa Harper, who was most recently the CEO of Hot Topic. She was previously the CEO of Gymboree.
“I am confident [Harper] will be a dynamic leader who will carry forth our values, our brand, and our focus on our customers,” said Tim Belk in a statement. “I look forward to working with Lisa during a transition period in July and in my continued role as a board member.”
